Colorado Landfill Fees Expected to Climb in 2017

Colorado is home to some of America's most beautiful landmarks and national parks. However, most of our land is protected and many landfills are starting to reach their limits. This year, many counties in Colorado will start seeing another increase in these landfill/dumping fees. What does this mean if you're a business owner?

This means it will cost even more when you have to replace your roof, and maybe some major repairs will jump in price too. Some places in Colorado are seeing increases up to $10 per ton, which can equal to thousands of dollars. Typically, non-environmentally friendly roofs can last roughly about 10-15 years in Colorado without maintenance. This is due to many factors just such as drastic weather changes in climate from cold to warm, and then back again. Those weather changes cause buildings to contract, expand, then contract again which can lead to leaks and more. Also, hail plays a significant factor and proper maintenance with any roof is key. The sun is very intense here since we are much higher in elevation, hence the reason for UV Rays deteriorating things much faster than other areas in the US.

Colorado Commercial Roofing, Inc. has over 37 years of experience, exclusively in the Colorado Area. All of our products that we offer are Eco-friendly and made to withstand drastic climate changes. Our products are reflective, which helps slow down deterioration from UV Rays. And best of all, all of our Roofing Systems are environmentally friendly which can help with those landfill fees. We are fully insured, Certified Installers and Authorized to issue warranties directly from the manufacturers. We also offer Roof Maintenance Programs for business owners that go hand-in-hand to ensure your roof's longevity.

Ice Dams

In Colorado, we sometimes experience drastic weather changes during the snow season. A snow storm can pass by easily leaving anywhere from 3-18 inches of snow or more in just one day. Then the following day or week, we might reach above freezing temperatures which can cause snow to gradually melt and form hard ice. Then another snow storm comes in and this effect repeats itself, cold then warm then cold again. This Ice Dam effect traps water that will start to leak from the edge of your roof. The cycle will force your roof to expand and contract aw well. Sometimes damage from hail storms that aren't visible become huge tears and holes in your roof system come winter season.

When snow piles up on your roof Ice Dams can form, trapping water and moisture which can lead to roof leaks, gutter damage and more from dangerous ice blockage. Colorado Commercial Roofing tries to stay preventative during these winter conditions. Our warranties can cover both Labor and Materials. Ask us about how you can receive Annual Warranty Check-ups. We also offer a 24-7 Emergency Repair Service for everyone during any weather condition. We are certified in many products as we are one of the only Authorized Roofing Contractor's in Colorado that may issue warranties direct from our Manufacturers.

Keep your business up-to-date by having a healthy roofing system. Making sure your company has proper ventilation and insulation can aid in these conditions, and having our certified experts evaluate your situation is key. There can be many factors to why your experiencing problems from snow and ice, call us at (719) 466-3441 and ask about our No-Obligation Estimates. We can also repair some situations right on the spot.

How wildlife affects & damages your Roofing System, causing holes, clogged airways & more!

This year alone, we’ve had to perform several repairs for our customers from damage created by Woodpeckers, Squirrels, Crows, Ravens and other wildlife here in Colorado. These animals can tear away at the membrane, while crows and woodpeckers will even eat certain types of Insulation after tearing through the membrane coating. Once a crow finds a spot, it will keep coming back. We’ve personally watched the fattest crow hop away from us as we patched his eating hole up move away a good 50 feet away then just start pecking away at a new hole.

Not to mention as they eat away at your Roofing System, they make their nests in units nearby causing more holes, clogging airways and more. If it's a Pigeon, they let their feces pile up so high it can actually become a Major HAZMAT Issue which is then pumping the fumes of this bio-hazard right back into the duct work entering into your HVAC System and into your building.
